Rooted in Stillness. Guided by Intention.
At Shanti Lake, we offer more than just a place to stay. We offer space — for rest, for inquiry, for quiet reconnection. Nestled at the heart of the Domaine de la Grausse, this land has held peace long before we arrived. It is our honour and responsibility to continue that lineage, gently shaping it into a sanctuary where others may pause, breathe, and return to themselves.
Our Story
We are Julien and Jenny, a Franco-Spanish couple who left behind the noise of a busy life to follow something slower, deeper, and more real. After many years living abroad — in Switzerland, Spain, England, and the US — we were called to the French Pyrenees, where this property found us as much as we found it.
With our children, we’ve made Domain de La Grausse our home — a place where barefoot mornings, quiet evenings, and shared meals in the garden are part of daily life. Jenny has been practicing yoga for 15 years, and her approach is rooted in devotion, presence, and humility — not performance. For us, it has become evident that yoga is both a practice and a path — rooted in the body, but reaching far beyond it.
Charles & Emine
Two dear friends and close collaborators, Charles and Emine bring depth, devotion, and grounded presence to Shanti Lake. As our resident teachers, they guide all retreats with care, drawing on years of study and practice across India, Sri Lanka, and beyond.
Charles teaches with calm clarity, blending classical yoga, breathwork, and non-dual philosophy into a deeply embodied experience. Emine offers gentle precision and soulful presence, rooted in alignment, devotion, and a lived yogic path.
Together, they hold space that goes far beyond the mat — not about performance, but about presence. Their retreats invite rest, reflection, and reconnection with what truly matters.
Yoga at Shanti Lake
Here, yoga is not defined by the shape of a pose, but by the quality of attention we bring to each moment. It is a way of being — a way of seeing, listening, and relating to the world with compassion, clarity, and simplicity.
It’s in the silence of early mornings by the lake.
It’s in shared breath and shared meals.
It’s in the courage to slow down.
At Shanti Lake, yoga is for the body, yes — but also for the heart, the mind, and the soul.
Come As You Are
Whether you join us for a retreat, a restful stay, or a quiet walk through nature— you are welcome here. Not to become anything new, but simply to return to what’s always been true.
“Shanti is not a destination — it is your natural state.”
